What is collaborative divorce?
Collaborative divorce is a process where you have a lot of different professionals that come together to try to help you resolve all the issues in your case. You don’t start with litigation, you start with both parties trying to work out an agreement. You have the financial planner that comes in to talk about the assets, you have the parenting coordinator that comes in that talks about and helps you come to an agreement with the kids, and you actually enter into an agreement with your spouse that you will not file litigation during this whole process. If you do eventually have to go to litigation then you kind of start the process all over so it kind of keeps the parties on the collaborative path to try to come to a resolution without litigation.
