Can I make my husband repay the money he cleaned out of my bank account?
Sometimes, if the money is gone, it’s kind of like you can’t get something back that is gone. However, the courts can always kind of credit that against your husband. So if you have a total of $50,000 in assets and he took $25,000, he’s already gotten his half of the assets. It’s not like you’re going to have to split up the remaining 25. If you guys only had $500 and he spent the $500, it’s going to be hard for the court to do anything about that, but there are certainly ways that you can ask the court for other relief to make up for that.
